微軟Surface平板機包括兩款，一款運行Windows RT，另一款運行Windows 8 Pro，為了便於稱呼，業界將兩者稱之為Surface RT和Surface Pro，不過微軟直到近日才悄然在官網上將Surface名稱更改為這種簡單易讀的名稱。
之前，Surface RT和Surface Pro在微軟官方網站上的名稱分別是Surface with Windows RT、Surface with Windows 8 Pro，就在本月初，這兩款平板機在官網上還是這種身份。
不過現在你再去訪問Surface官網就會看到，兩者的身份清晰了，微軟以Surface RT和Surface Pro指代兩者。不過微軟並沒有發佈任何聲明來證實此次更名，外媒已經詢問微軟，Surface RT和Surface Pro是否就是它們新的官方名稱，微軟尚未回應。
另外要說明的一點是，儘管Surface官網已經採用新的命名，不過在Windows官網上，Surface Pro的名稱依然是Surface with Windows 8 Pro。
