Microsoft 正式發佈針對 Windows 7 作業系統的 Internet Explorer 11 正式版，相較上代 IE 10 版本，擁有重新設計的開發者工具、加入支援 WebGL 語言、經強化的顯示縮放、預取技術及圖像渲染等。 Internet Explorer 11 性能大幅提升，其測試成績相較 Firefox 25 、 Opera 17 與 Chrome 30 都要優勝。

Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 於 2013 年 6 月 24 日首次公開，它是內建於 Windows 8.1 Beta 版本之中，並於 7 月 25 日推出針對 Windows 7 作業系統的 Developer Preview 版本，並於 2013 年 9 月 17 日推出 Release Preview ，完成了主要的性能優化。
不少網站針對 Internet Explorer11 進行測試，大部份成績均較 Firefox 25 、 Opera 17 與 Chrome 30 優秀，僅少部份測試落後 Chrome 或平手，例如 Google V8 performance Benchmark 。而且 Internet Explorer 11 在開啟分頁時所佔記憶體數目，亦較其他 3 款瀏覽器更少，值得一試。
